"The Nation's Church" also known as Christ Church was the first Protestant Episcopal church in the U.S. This National Historic Landmark was founded in 1695, but the construction of this structure didn't begin until 1727. The church's steeple was built in 1754 and, at 60 m (197 ft) high, was actually the tallest building on the continent at the time. Take in the structure's famous colonial craftsmanship and 18th-century architecture. Step inside the church, which hosted 15 signers of the Declaration of Independence in its congregation, among other historical figures. • Christ Church is a beautiful, historical location in the Old City section of Philadelphia. It’s a must see for tourists and native Philadelphians. The staff is knowledgeable of the history and will answer any questions you might have. The outside of the church and its grounds are spectacular. You can also attend services, if you are interested. Many of our founding fathers were here. What an experience.
  • Beautiful church. There is so much history within the walls and grounds. Take time to speak with the historian that is often in the main sanctuary.
