The population was 1,682 at the 2010 census.HistoryPhillipston was first settled in 1751, and incorporated as the town of Gerry in 1786, after separating from Templeton. It was named after Elbridge Gerry. The population density was 66.8 people per square mile (25.8/km²). There were 739 housing units at an average density of 30.5 per square mile (11.8/km²).
