Navarro is committed to sustainable farming practices. Navarro participates in the Fish Friendly Farming program and the California Sustainable Winegrowing Program. To visit Navarro Vineyards on your holiday in Philo, and find out what else Philo has to offer, use our Philo.
Some of Navarro’s sustainable farming practices include the use of cover crops between vine rows to reduce sedimentation and encourage beneficial insects, annual monitoring of erosion-control measures and protection of the riparian corridor. In 2006, Navarro introduced sheep and a portable chicken house into the vineyards as a fossil-fuel-free method of mowing, suckering, and limiting pests. Navarro farms without the use of chemical pesticides and herbicides. Navarro’s winery, vineyard and tasting room employees are hired full-time with health, dental and profit sharing benefits.
Navarro now produces 40,000 cases of wine annually, 60% of which is produced from estate-grown grapes. Many Navarro customers have become valued friends who come back to visit each year. Direct marketing provides the opportunity of staying small and providing quality wines at moderate prices. Eighty percent of production is sold in the tasting room or to mailing list customers. Most of the balance is sold directly to restaurants. Five percent of Navarro’s production is allocated each year to the out-of-state and foreign markets.

Such a beautiful vineyard, with lots of outdoor seating and great wines. They are known for the white wines like Gewurztraminer, but have good Pinot Noir also. Great service, and they didn’t charge for tastings.

Beautiful! Lambs are adorable! Love that they let dogs in too. A bit cold outside, but glad they are working to keeping people at a safe distance. There was 1 lady doing tasting to 5 tables with one of the tables being a big party. Me being a party of 1, took a bit longer to get some tasting. Wine was very delicious, I'm not a big fan of dry wine, but their's was very tasty. Overall it's a very nice place to go tasting, everyone was so friendly and very knowledgeable! Purchased a couple bottles of their sweet blanc, would definitely order from here in the future!!
