Navarro is committed to sustainable farming practices. Navarro participates in the Fish Friendly Farming program and the California Sustainable Winegrowing Program.

Some of Navarro’s sustainable farming practices include the use of cover crops between vine rows to reduce sedimentation and encourage beneficial insects, annual monitoring of erosion-control measures and protection of the riparian corridor. In 2006, Navarro introduced sheep and a portable chicken house into the vineyards as a fossil-fuel-free method of mowing, suckering, and limiting pests. Navarro farms without the use of chemical pesticides and herbicides. Navarro’s winery, vineyard and tasting room employees are hired full-time with health, dental and profit sharing benefits.

Navarro now produces 40,000 cases of wine annually, 60% of which is produced from estate-grown grapes. Many Navarro customers have become valued friends who come back to visit each year. Direct marketing provides the opportunity of staying small and providing quality wines at moderate prices. Eighty percent of production is sold in the tasting room or to mailing list customers. Most of the balance is sold directly to restaurants. Five percent of Navarro’s production is allocated each year to the out-of-state and foreign markets.

  • The tasting room is nice and the wines are good. Tried 6 and bought 2 of them. You can try many because the pourings are very small. Bought the table chardonnay and the rosé of pinot noir. Good wine.  more »
  • One of the oldest wineries in the Valley with reliable offerings at decent prices. Service at the Tasting Room is gracious and knowledgeable.  more »

  • Huge variety of wines and great service. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area.
  • Even for non wine folks, there are some absolutely awesome things to be found here! We love the Mandarin Orange infused olive oil and Mission Fig Vinegar. Also many varieties of pickled veggies and local, varietal cheeses! Excellent help in having essentials delivered with just one short phone call!
