Iron Mountain Metal Craft, Pigeon Forge

Had a great time making the railroad spike knives with my son. Our guy or metal worker was nice and enjoyed his job. Granted I read some of the other negative reviews, you do not get to do or perform every part of the forging. You have to keep in mind these guys have no idea if you have ever even swung a hammer before in your life. And yet they calmly hold onto a red hot spike while you hammer it out with their instructions. So in my book they get a big thumbs up from me..

Not sure where the 1 star negative reviews are coming from. We took our 12yo to Iron Mountain Metal Craft while on a hiking vacation in GSMNP and he had an absolute blast! It took days to wipe the smile off his face and he shows his knife off to everyone who comes over. He decided on the Horseshoe Knife. EVERYONE (the woman behind the counter, Robby, the young man who helped him forge, and the gentleman who grinded the edge and polished it) were super friendly and patient with him and immediately put him at ease (he was a little nervous since he's never done anything remotely close to this). Highly recommended and a great memory!
