Ray Roberts Lake State Park - Isle du Bois Unit is on the south side of Ray Roberts Lake in Denton County. The Isle du Bois Unit (meaning "Island of the Trees") opened in 1993. Isle du Bois, truly is an "Island of the Trees". Located in the Eastern Cross Timbers, the park is home to variety of oak trees, elm trees, and many others. Visit the park and be transported to another time and place where nature abounds!
The Interpretive Center is home to many hands-on exhibits from the park including animal skins and skulls. Everyone is welcome! The Interpretive Center is a great place to get information about the park, visit with a park ranger and borrow a Jr. Ranger Explorer Pack to begin your own adventure in the outdoors. The Interpretive Center is open on weekend and by request.

This park was just perfect for what we were looking for! It was like being down at the beach had there been waves. The sand was free of debris and the kids loved building sandcastles in it. There is plenty of room to spread out so that you have your own space. Bathrooms are located in the parking area and there is even a great big playground if the kids grow tired of swimming. There are grills and picnic tables in the grassy area with TONS of shade to cool off and grill with the family. We spent several hours there and will definitely be back.

A great family-friendly, dog friendly, place to come. They have the paved trails in the hiking trails. A kids fishing pond. The beach bathrooms with showers a shower head on the beach to wash the sand off your feet. Three big playground areas campsites for campers or tent. Water and electric hook-up with a dump station. They also have variety of classes for kids and adults that you can take at the park.. me and my family love this place.
