  • (Sep 2019) My family and I recently visited Carolina Tiger Rescue in Pittsboro. It was an incredible experience. If you are not familiar, the organization's mission is Saving and protecting wild cats in captivity and in the wild. We work toward a day when wild cats are living in their native habitat and are not exploited by humans And true to their mission they do selfless work to shelter and nurture wild cats. These animals have had a tough start to life due to reckless human habits. They care for the animals and just let them be. What's even more incredible is even though they are federally recognized as a sanctuary they do not receive government assistance. While they have a dedicated staff they rely heavily on volunteer support. I highly recommend taking one of their tours. The people there are knowledgeable and are passionate about what they do. I am going to support them as best I can. I hope you will too.
  • Great evening. We did a twilight tour and it was amazing. Even though it rained for most of the tour the tigers and smaller cats still came out to greet us :) we even got to hear a Lion roar, something I definitely wasn't expecting. Well worth the trip and extremely informative as well as enjoyable
