Create an itinerary including Plymouth Rock
Plymouth Rock commemorates the location where Europeans first set foot onto what's now U.S. soil. Although historians disagree on whether the first pilgrims actually docked their ships on a large protruding rock in 1620, today there stands a simple boulder to commemorate the birthplace of the United States. You can view the boulder and the beautiful coastal views around the harbor, where a replica of the Mayflower II, the ship on which the pilgrims traveled across the Atlantic, resides. • Beautiful little town with tons of history! Perfect for walking! I visited in mid October and the weather was perfect. Enjoyable time walking to the different delicious restaurants and shops located within a very manageable stroll! Definitely worth your time for a afternoon or a short weekend trip! I love mural hunting and the painted shells placed throughout the area was brilliant!!!
  • A great place to see your elementary history textbook come to life. The rock is surrounded by a guard structure with park ranger on duty. No touching, but plenty close to enjoy it. While on premises, go across the street to the pilgrim grave and enjoy the view of the bay and replica Mayflower.
