  • Are ALL Pocatello Museums closed on Monday??? Too bad, so sad. There is so much to learn. Perhaps they could encourage “Monday Volunteers”?

  • Wish I had budgeted more time. A wealth of area history totally underappreciated. If you are new to he area and want to learn some of the history, include this Museum in your plans.

  • The Bannock County Historical Museum "was constructed near the Fort because it was thought that the proximity would provide a more complete experience for visitors.... exhibits, objects, and records relating to Bannock County and Pocatello's history." The Fort Hall Replica "was built to scale using Hudson Bay Trading Company floor plans and traditional materials and methods... to commemorate the area's history. The original Fort was established in 1834 as a fur trade post, and it later served as both a stage-stop and supply post for emigrants..." The Pocatello Junction buildings "(about 4 scale) ... represent the primary community buildings and businesses that were part of the original Pocatello townsite" for settlers on the OR/CA trails...."
  • A neat museum and a good way to learn about Pocatello and other stuff! If your lucky and go at the right time you may even get a tour guide! it is a bit understaffed so they cant do that all the time but you can still have a great experience without a tour guide experiencing the different buildings.
