*In order to avoid all the congestion at the museum as we have experienced at the finish line in years past, the course has been changed.*
The start line is between 8th and 9th streets on Main Street, a few blocks north of the museum, at Christ Episcopal Church. Go north on Main Street through the dead end, then turn left and go south along the river until you enter Tu-Endie-Wei State Park. Take a slight left and follow the sidewalk past the cabin, and follow the sidewalk/path around the perimeter of the park. Exit the park and go north on Main Street, and turn left when you get to the Mothman Museum. You will run between the Post Office and Lowe Hotel, go through the flood wall, and turn right, going north along the river. You are back-tracking at this point. Go to the end, go right and head back south on Main Street until you reach the historic State Theater. There will be signs along the route to help point you in the right direction.

The statue is so big and it’s quite pretty. Our family visited the museum and stopped by for a photo opp. It was a nifty thing to do while we were in the area. more »
Took my children here to learn about the Mothman. Do far it has been one of their favorite adventures. They enjoyed posing with the statue and the background story of it all. It was nice and quiet. People all around were friendly. We had just the best experience. I personally had been here a few times since 2009 and never had a bad experience.
A lot of history behind it. It is in a very small town. So quite and peaceful Place. There is a nice park around it. We went by the lake close to the statue and enjoyed the beautiful sunset. I reccomend to have a water fountain and restroom there.
