Heidrun Meadery was founded in 1997 in Arcata, California. In 2008 we purchased a slightly funky and defunct dairy farm in the agricultural and culinary oasis of Point Reyes Station, Marin County, California, with the ambitious objectives of relocating the meadery nearer to the Bay Area, expanding our mead production, setting up a commercial beekeeping operation, starting a bee forage cultivation program and establishing a modest visitor’s center and tasting room.

Our tasting room is open to visitors everyday except for Tuesday. You can drop in for a tasting or reserve a spot on one of our tours. Come visit a place like no other!

  • What a great Winery and an amazing experience. My wife made a reservation on my birthday to visit here for wine tasting. We got food from outside as they don’t serve food there but do allow to bring food from outside. They have plenty of open spaces to seat and enjoy the wine. They make wine from honey by following a champagne making method. They cater honey from different parts like Sonoma, Madras in Oregon, Sierra Nevada and from a facility maintained nearby the winery. They follow a two step fermentation process to make the wine by keeping it in a stainless steel container, very interesting. We were amazed to find out that wine didn’t taste sweet, you won’t taste honey at all, all 4 kinds we tasted were extremely rich in quality. The atmosphere is amazing with countryside music playing in background. Also, I loved the hospitality and kind nature of associates to help explain the process of wine making. Lots of good products to buy from here, pictures should give you a good idea on same. Loved the experience overall, will definitely recommend this place for everyone to experience at least once.
  • We tasted various meads and loved the experience. The staff is friendly, and they explain the whole process and origin of each variety. The venue is super cute and straight out of a romantic movie.
