  • The 'death road' leading up to Hawksbill Crag was absolutely terrifying! Would not recommend coming up from Hwy 21 if you are in a car. There is a more level road the other way. Come from Hwy 16...  more »
  • The early morning fog created an eerie setting for our 6 mile drive along the gravel road to the trailhead. The fog coupled with the fallen autumn leaves and exposed tree branches, begged us to pull.....  more »

  • Nice trail to the view point. Visitor center lady told me someone walked over too close to the edge a few weeks ago... view is the same a few feet away from the edge so enjoy safely. Also someone said it’s about 2 miles round trip, I think it’s much shorter. Expect to drive in unpaved road(fair condition)for 6 miles
  • Beautiful view on Whitaker Point. Wear comfy shoes and weather appropriate clothing. I’d also recommend bringing water and some protein snacks. Not too strenuous, but take care & don’t go alone bc it can be slippery and no fences or ropes are there for safety. There’s usually someone out there who can grab a pic of you on the cliff. Worth the view.
