Small charge to climb to the top The view is very good. Have to be able to cling very steep stairs, but worth the effort

Great lighthouse in Texas, one of the few that’s open to the public. My daughter and I went, climbed to the top of the stairs to take pictures, not a easy feat but do able. She loves seeing all lighthouse so we had a great time. There are many businesses, stores and restaurants on the water and nearby the lighthouse to do additional sightseeing. Highly recommend esp if you enjoy lighthouses.

We stopped by the lighthouse before leaving and we are really glad we did. It is $5 for each adult and we were a group of 7. We payed so we could enter and climb to the top. The worst part? There’s a lot of stairs. This was a little hard for someone in our group who has arthritis but she managed to get to the very top regardless. Now, keep in mind, after you climb the stairs, then you have to climb up a small ladder and then after that, there are a few more stairs. When you pass the ladder part, there is the main opening that takes you outside and you can walk all around in a loop. If you choose to climb up the extra stairs, it takes you up a tad higher and it has a great view that is not open air. That area cuts off, it doesn’t loop around. I really enjoyed it and thought it was fun. We were up there about 10-15 minutes but decided to come down when we saw more people coming. There is definitely not room for many people. Also, someone in our group got anxious because of the height so not recommended for people who have a fear of heights. The best part? The view!
