Tara Inn, Port Jefferson

Fun to eat here. Haven't been here for years but it's still the same. Where else do you get a $1 burger? We had burgers, Chicken Sandwich and BLT. Everything was prepared correctly and prices for the other orders were very reasonable. Unfortunately for us they were all out of chili on this day. Food is served on paper plates with plastic utensils. Beverages are served in the bottle so they don't have to wash any dishes here. Great dive bar here with a pretty wide food menu.

A cultural icon from days gone by! A place where everybody is welcomed by the mostly friendly staff in NY. This is the place where everybody knows your name. The food is excellent, the beer is cold, the staff is the absolute best in the business and the clientele was very friendly. We were treated as royalty thanks to Terri who went out of her way to introduce us to everyone. To all of those we met thank you for all of the great conversations and memories you have given us. Thanks Terri!! This is a unique venue that is a must visit.
