Housed in a former Masonic Temple, Portland Art Museum holds a permanent collection of more than 42,000 works of art from around the world. This museum was founded in 1892 with the goal of creating a first-class art museum accessible to all of the community. Now, the museum continues to honor this mission, offering educational opportunities and special programs for children and adults.   • The Portland Art Museum was in between traveling exhibits, but we still spent over four hours touring all of the galleries throughout the museum. My favorite was the collection of European paintings.....  more »

We love being here and love venturing through Portland and discovering treasures like the Portland Art Museum. The exhibits were magnificent--we'll be back...
  • This place is BIG. First of all. Show up early if you're planning on seeing all the art. There are some art installations that are not in my interest but majority was really interesting to see. From modern weird postings to ancient artifacts. Cool place definitely a great visit
