  • Worth a visit. $10 per person entrance fee and this is for a guided tour. Knowledgeable guide on a house dating back 300 years with multiple owners. In central Portsmouth with nearby multi storey car....  more

  • I visited the Moffatt-Ladd House & Garden back in September during my three-day trip to Portsmouth. This was a fun tour with a highly knowledgeable guide, although the tour ran a bit long due to her enthusiasm. Plan for about ninety minutes to take the full tour and explore the gardens. The house has a great gift shop with souvenirs for every price point, along with a beautifully designed website, and an online shop. This is a must-see for history buffs and families looking to learn more about American history, along with photographers who love furniture, wallpaper, and architectural features.
  • Add to your stops! We enjoyed the Moffatt-Ladd House more than we anticipated! The docent led tour was amazing, packed with stories, points of history and specific knowledge on the different families and generations who lived here. Come with your mind open and ready to learn about the home William Whipple, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence lived in - it's a gem in American History. Our total for entry was $36, we're seniors!
