D.G. Yuengling and Son Brewery, Pottsville

The tour took about 1 hour to complete. You traveled back in time to see how the original brewery operated. I had no idea that they used caves to store the beer that were bricked off during prohibition. So cool to walk through that! Also loved the Rathskeller! Our tour was free with two sizable samples at the end. It was educational and well-done! Really enjoyed our experience ❤️

If you're a history lover, this is for you. If you're a beer lover, this is for you too. If you're like me and you love both, then this is a must-see and is well worth the trip. The tour is informative and fun and our tour guide, Kim, was an absolute delight. Getting a peak of the day to day operation of America's oldest brewery was fascinating and the free beer tastings at the end of the free tour was the cherry on top of a great day. We even had the pleasure of meeting and briefly speaking with Mr. Yuengling himself (thanks again to Kim for letting us know he was around). I know they say to never meet your heroes, but he was an absolute gentleman and really made the experience special for us. I will definitely make the trip to Pottsville again to visit this brewery.
