During harvest of 2007, the decision was made to turn this 291 acre private farm owned by Mike Scarborough into a commercial winery.

Since then, Running Hare Vineyard has produced numerous award-winning wines, including three international gold medals.

Running Hare Vineyard continues to make major changes to the landscape of the vineyard. There is a covered tasting pavilion located outside in the vineyard where guests can enjoy wine tastings. In addition to wine tastings, there is their sister company Calvert Brewing Company where guests can also enjoy craft beer in the beer garden.

The vineyard is also an amazing venue to host a wedding or special event!

In 2010, a Tuscan - styled events villa was built overlooking the entire vineyard. This building is available for rent year round to host your wedding or special occasion!

  • I absolutely love this place! Their wine slushies are incredible! Amazing place to go for good food, great drinks, good music, and a wonderful atmosphere! Not to mention how beautiful it is!!!

  • A group of us met after work and enjoyed the wine, the beer flights, the cocktail flight special, and the yummy wine slushees. I would suggest bringing bottled water as they don’t sell it on site...

  • Nice place with live music. Went during winter so it was off season, but they still had a guy jamming. Couple of beers bought were expired though and the kids running around were dampers, but I’d go back anytime because the scenery was nice
  • This place is our #1 favorite spot to hang out in Prince Frederick. The vibe is positive and lively and the staff is very friendly. Some of the best pizza I’ve ever had, no joke. It’s seriously impressive. My only gripe is the food truck food is absolutely terrible. I almost up chucked the wings. Even so, five stars!
