The Marble Bridge, formally known as the Fletcher D. Proctor Memorial Bridge, carries Main Street across Otter Creek in the center of Proctor, Vermont. Built in 1915 and widened in 1935-36, it is a well-preserved example of early concrete bridge construction, and is decoratively faced in local marble. The bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.

  • Unexpected to find this Marble bridge in a quaint Vermont town. Also enjoyed the marble structures in the area, very well done and beautiful. Glad we stumbled on this town.

  • We drove over this bridge in Proctor which provided a nice view. It was a lovely bridge. We actually weren't looking for it, it just happened to be along the route we were traveling.

  • This is amazing. The detail and workmanship is worth seeing. Along the side by the library there is a path along the river. You come to an amazing and powerful day. The view from both sides are beautiful. A young kid told me you can walk further down the path but it is steep. Never saw anything like this. Not hard to get to. We went RT 4 out of Rutland on to Proctor rd to the little center.
  • It is a beautiful Bridge made out of marble. Many of the sidewalks and public buildings are also made out of marble. Right around the corner is a high school and church. The church is very impressive.
