I just live near the lake and have since 1988 and love the area. I want to keep it safe and looking beautiful. I created this page as a community service and welcome others to contribute to it and become moderators. The mission is to keep Shelly Lake a safe and wonderful place for us all to enjoy. I am just a Raleigh citizen wanting to keep Raleigh NC the best place to live.

    This is a great place to walk your dog if you have one,,ride your bike, play with your children, or just enjoy nature. I find it peaceful in the early mornings.

    A great place to hike, bike, and have a picnic. Lots to do for kids and adults. At the entrance of the park there are nice remodeled bathrooms, an art center, and a playground. The walking trails and scenic views of the lake are great too.There are informative animal information posted throughout the park. All the drinking fountains provide cold and refreshing water as well.

    A great place to walk, bike or hang out. Wide open spaces and cool trails for walking. Also from time to time, you can spot a bald eagle's nest.
