  • A fun, family-friendly experience if you like live music and a rustic, western environment. The performers were skilled, and played well-recognized country classics, with some rock (such as Elvis). The food was filling, but overall pretty basic. There was a choice between chicken and beef for the meat. I would recommend choosing chicken, as the beef was pretty bland, unless you add some of the provided BBQ sauce. I visited in July, during the summer. It was warm inside, and there was no air conditioning in the main hall. Expect to drink lots of water, and come in summer clothing.
  • Super fun place for breakfast. The 99 cent pancakes were really good. All of the staff were super friendly and there was even a guy who plays the piano during breakfast! The kids and grown ups alike loved it. Be sure to save time to walk through the Ft. Hayes re-creation. They have three pieces of the movie set from Dances with Wolves; the office of the Major (I stood on the spot same spot as Kevin Costner), the Saw Mill, and the Outpost/Trading Post. There are movie posters from all the films made in South Dakota and stills taken during Dances with Wolves (lot of scenes were cut apparently and the Indians wearing glasses and smoking was kind of disconcerting). I kind of want to go back for the dinner show. Fun sweet place.
