Tranquil escape off a side road in the hamlet of Red Hook. Lovely walking paths, even in winter. Beautiful rustic benches, Hudson River views from the hilltop. Said to be a favorite of Washington Irving and other local writers. Can't get more poetic than that.

Place is great. Awesome spot to tire the young ones out for a good nights' sleep. There is a lot of walking to do. Nice hiking trail that brings you down by the train tracks overlooking the Hudson. I must advice that the path to the right is NOT stroller friendly. I did it once, lucky the stroller I have is heavy duty and sturdy. Unlucky for me, it is also heavy. Never again. Makes for nice pics though.
