Create an itinerary including Carbon County Art Guild & Depot Gallery
The Carbon County Arts Guild was founded in 1973 by a group of ardent citizens desiring a higher quality of life through the Arts. The year 1983 marked a significant milestone for the Guild through the donation of the old Red Lodge train depot from the Burlington Northern Railroad. With this permanent residence and the hard work and dedication of many artists and art patrons, the non-profit organization has grown into a cultural resource center for the region. The Depot Gallery hosts monthly exhibits and offers area visual artists the ability to display and sell their work, thereby forming a positive base for economic opportunity. Educational activities include a Student Art Camp, which serves students in grades one through five during the summer months and awards a yearly $1,000.00 student scholarship, classes for all ages and professional development classes in the visual, literary and performing art fields. The Carbon County Arts Guild & Depot Gallery is responsible for bringing annual activities and events to the community such as the Missoula Children's Theatre, Shakespeare in the Parks, Rocky Mountain Regional Juried Exhibition, Carbon County Student Show, Rural Rhythms Concert Series, Montana Repertory Theatre, Labor Day Arts and Crafts Fair, Annual "Art in the Beartooths" and Stillwater Society Exhibit. We strive to meet our mission to support, inspire and encourage all artists.

  • Take some time to enjoy this Red Lodge Western/Regional art venue, rainy day or not! Good variety of artisans represented, many media hi-lighted. Staff pleasant and well-informed about artists...

  • I loved visiting Red Lodge. We stayed for a week - primarily because the city has installed four 80 amp Electric Vehicle Chargers. What a great place to shop, eat, explore! The artwork was beautiful.....  more

  • I visited here with my twin & her husband Denny Neville, who was teaching a painting class on 8.19. While they were getting the class ready, sis & I perused the stunning artwork, beautiful jewelry, gorgeous colorful silk scarves, and apparel that was for sale. The Manager was friendly & professional. Recommend visiting just to see the Art work alone!!
  • This non-profit gallery is my favorite gallery anywhere. They always have a large selection of western mountain art from their artist members. Oils, acrylics, watercolors, photographs, sculptures and even motion sculptures; most at very reasonable prices. They also have educational programs for both adults and children. They have more art than they can display, so some art is stored in closets. If you like watercolor mountain landscapes, be sure to ask what Mary Blain pieces they have. We are from Minnesota, but my wife and I try to visit this gallery every time we're in MT.
