Hiwassee Outfitters, Delano

Hiwassee Outfitters, Inc., is the leading outdoor recreation destination in the Cherokee National Forest. We specialize in rafting and tubing on the Hiwassee River. Our campground and retail store make our facilities the only destination where you can have it all in one beautiful place!

The Hiwassee River is 5.5 miles of class I and II whitewater with one low level class III rapid at the end of your trip: "Devil's Shoals". It will take roughly two and a half to three hours to complete. Hiwassee Outfitters offers self-guided river trips, so you can go at your own pace! (Guides are available by request.)

Hiwassee Outfitters has the largest fleet on the river including rafts, inflatable kayaks, sit on top kayaks and tubes. We have A "Puma" which holds 4 to 5 people. We also offer single or double inflatable kayaks or "funyaks", Dagger Torrent Sit-On-Top Kayaks, and tubes.

Hiwassee Outfitters imposes no age or weight restrictions on rafts, funyak, or sit-on-top kayaks. We leave that up to the best judgement of parents and guardians. However, all tubers must be at least 12 years old due to the prolonged exposure to the cold river water.
