  • First of all, let me say that Republic was my most favorite town we visited this year (and we went all over Washington State). We felt so welcome. Friendliest people in that town. We camped at Curlew....  more »

  • The camping site was quite a walk from where we could park the vehicle, which we had expected, we had site number 52, something the map doesn't show is that its way up on quite a hill. That was quite a surprise! that said there was lots of grass and it was a large pleasant spot. Most of the campers it seemed were from Spokane and a few from Seattle. There's a really nice rail trail on the opposite side of the lake. We drove to the North end, unloaded the bicycles, and then cycled down to the South end of the lake. It was a pleasant ride with the kids, and quiet easy and level. The trestle at the North end was great to bike over, and not scary at all. The biggest disappointment was the water. It was full of lake weeds pretty much everywhere we saw throughout the lake, even the swimming area, and really gross. The swimming beach had lots of goose droppings. It was bad enough that my kids didn't want to swim any more after trying it initially, even though we live in the country and are used to wild situations and stuff. Overall we had a good time. The campground hosts were really nice, and the bathrooms and showers were decent. However we probably won't be going back. There are so many other places we like better.
  • Super great park next to a lake. Was easy to get an RV spot during the middle of the week with no reservations. Easy access to the boat ramp. Lots and lots of tent only camping spots that are nearest the lake. Great place for summer fun!
