Walk down Monument Avenue to see monuments from the Southern movement of the Civil War, as well as a hometown sports hero. Make your way down the tree-lined boulevard, where you will find monuments memorializing Virginian Confederate participants from the Civil War, as well as historical homes and churches. See monuments to Robert E. Lee, Jefferson Davis, J.E.B. Stuart, Matthew Fontaine Maury, and Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson as you make your way down the street. You will also find a monument to Arthur Ashe, an international tennis star from the town. Throughout the year this area hosts a variety of events, like annual races or Confederate holiday celebrations where people gather along the avenue in military costumes. You need to update your website. Thankfully all the confederate statues have been removed. I was there in November, and they were gone. A beuatiful area to drive around. Gorgeous homes.

The most beautiful street in Richmond. Home to the man who should never be forgotten.

Love seeing all the ignorant people trying to talk about a statue to a great man. They obviously are acting out of emotion and not out of any historical knowledge.
