Virginia Museum of History & Culture, Richmond

We visited the VMFA over my kids' spring break vacation and we saw this museum next door as we left. I had never heard of it (was previously named the Virginia Historical Society, but was renamed in the beginning of 2018 -- smart move!), so went a couple days later when it was to go the next day to explore. I've lived in Richmond for 12 years and am ashamed I didn't know about this museum sooner. Our visit was absolutely wonderful. So many interesting exhibits on the history and cultures of Virginia. One of our family's favorites was the old Richmond Trolley car. What a gem of a museum to have so close by! We had to cut our first visit short because of other engagements, but we are looking forward to our next visit! Thank you

Went there went I first moved here.Walker that I am I love walking by there. It is amazingly updated with exhibits displayed new pieces that enable you to appreciate not only being your culture, your interests, but most of all being a parent of Virginian college student loving being in the state for lovers. LGBTQ friendly you'll enjoy meeting new friends and exploring new science intersts. So worth bringing the entire family too. You will love visiting Virginia.
