The Riverside Art Museum strives to integrate art into the lives of people in a way that engages, inspires, and builds community by presenting thought-provoking exhibits and providing quality art classes that instill a lifelong love of the arts.

Located in the historic Mission Inn district of downtown Riverside, our architecturally significant 1929 building is a former YWCA facility designed by Hearst Castle architect Julia Morgan.

The building’s distinctive architecture as a work of art in its own right brought it to the attention of the Riverside Art Center in the 1960s. Purchased from the YWCA on July 5, 1967, Morgan’s building became the proud home of the Riverside Art Museum.

The building is now home to artists and art lovers as a place to quietly roam and experience the world of art. Discover a wealth of opportunities to learn and be inspired in our galleries where there’s something to pique everyone’s interests and to challenge their perceptions of what art is.

Join us for: art classes for the young and young at heart alike that teach art history and technique, free family activities, lectures, book readings and signings, film screenings, and a Museum Store filled with items you won’t find elsewhere.

DONORS MATTER

As a non-profit institution RAM relies on the generosity of donors like you to support a place where a love of the arts can be sparked and nurtured. Your thoughtful gift will provide children and adults the opportunity to see art and to learn through hands-on experiences.

YOUR support is critical to our mission.

  • Not only a place one can view local artists, but also they have interactive displays where you can have the opportunity to display your own artistic talent. A great place to bring children, for all artwork are children appropriate. I great place to enjoy for a couple of hours located in downtown Riverside. The only downside is the metered parking.
  • The museum is small, but also cheap for students and inviting due to the friendly staff. There weren't many exhibits, but it seems like the museum also performs functions for getting youth involved in the arts and offers many good and impressive opportunities for this. The display of high school work in the museum is also a nice touch that will hopefully continue to inspire a new generation of artists.
