  • The dogs and I totally enjoyed this beautiful, scenic state park. We were about 5 dates late for peak leaf change nevertheless the yellows, reds, and golds were still in abundance.  more »

  • We cannot say enough about how wonderful this park is!!! Every time we’ve been here in nice hot southern weather it is typically 10 degrees cooler here than anywhere else. So that alone is welcoming. The campground is pristine! The campsites and grounds are extremely well maintained and immaculate. The bathhouses are spotless even though they’re a little older. The trails, playgrounds, and river areas are all clean and cared for. They have recycling and trash cans every few campsites throughout all campground areas. It is evident the park staff here takes great pride in what they do. The campground hosts go above and beyond to take care of their guests and make them feel welcome. The park rangers here are visible day and night and make regular patrols through the campground. The Doe River runs through the park and campground adding a lovely peaceful element as well. This is our favorite Tennessee State Park!! We hope to visit it for years to come!
  • Beautiful park. My family and I have been camping here a few times now and love it every time. Park is clean and well maintained. The playgrounds and pool are a favorite for our kids. They also love playing in the creek and being able to safely enjoy riding their bikes and scooters around. Note: helmets are required for all kids on bikes as well as on scooters but the office had ones available to borrow should you forget to bring one. Wood they sell is $5/bundle. Bathrooms are equipped with one shower, two toilet stalls and an electrical outlet should you need to blow-dry your hair. Tent sites are a great size, RV sites seem to be close together for our taste but we always tent camp and the RV sites are always packed so I guess others are fine with the spacing there. Pets are welcome but need to be leashed. Sites have fire pits and charcoal grills.
