  • Campgrounds are wonderful!! The staff was super friendly and welcoming. Places for RVs and tents; electric & non-electric sites. The bath house was nice, clean; with nice size shower stalls. Water is available close to your site. All sites vary, but all seem to be wonderful. Our site was large, flat and clean. Wonderful things to see all around, no matter if you take a walk, hike or drive. Stone Mountain State park is a great place to visit!!
  • We enjoyed our time camping here. We RV camped on a water/ electric site. The sites were well maintained and clean. You could tell the section we were in had some water drainage issues at time and there were a few mushy areas. However, the drive was paved and it had a nice rough sand covered picnic and fire ring area (the sand did track into the RV though). Sites were big, no overhanging branches. The stream ran through the campground which was pretty. We hiked part of the Stone Mountain loop then down to the bottom of the falls. It was beautiful. We continued down to the middle falls that was pretty but didn't have a great view of the entire falls due to vegetation. (There are a couple place along the trail between the base of the first falls and the middle falls where you need to walk through a small stream or hop from rock to rock.) This was an excellent hike but I think we counted 436 stairs. We also hiked up to the Hutchinson Homestead which was quaint and informative and offered beautiful views of Stone Mountain. The old home, barn and buildings were interesting as well. We also hiked Widows Creek Falls which was a very short hike from the road side parking and was very picturesque.
