  • Nice place to watch barges go through the lock and dam. It’s also a nice place to see a 1865 bridge open and close to let barges go up or down the river. The Mississippi river visitor center is located on the Rock Island Arsenal. This Arsenal has a lot of history it also has a picnic area, bike trails, Museum, and a lot of historical buildings. They also have a civil war cemetery on the island. You need to enter the Rock island Arsenal off of I -74 in Moline Illinois
  • Fun and educational. A few hands on things for kids. Wish we could've seen the lock in action. If visiting, you must enter the Moline gate and get a visitor pass before checking in.
