  • One of the best overlooks along Trail Ridge Road where the pine tree forest meets the alpine tundra. Best photo are in late morning or early afternoon when the sun is directly overhead.  more »
  • Forest Canyon overlook is above the treeline, so you can see tundra biome. It was very cool expeirence. Especially, there is a part of the mountain where you can see the uppermost treeline. From...  more »

  • Beautiful drive. The views are breathtaking with plenty of spots to pull over and take photos or go for a hike. Well taken care of camp grounds and roadways. Many animals are regularly visible from both roadside and dedicated parking areas. Don't let the animals fool you, they are cute but dangerous.
  • I came back into the national park to watch the sunset. I was trying to figure out the best place to watch it without driving too deep into the park. This spot is only about 15 minutes from the main entrance from Estes Park, depending on the drivers in front of you of course. We made it with some time to spare and were able to snap a ton of photos. This is an awesome overlook and I’d love to come back.
