  • We hiked to the Ouzel Falls from the Wild Basin Trailhead in mid-August. It was perhaps our nicest trek. The trail was 2.7 miles one way with an elevation rise of 950 feet — a moderate hike and one...

  • Gorgeous hike, not too strenuous but perfect for acclimating to the high altitude. Tons of waterfalls and green trees. Really enjoyed this hike!

  • Beautiful place to hike. Great scenery. Lots of smalls falls to see on the way to the Ouzel Falls. The trail is 90% dry and fairly easy to travel on. If you're planning to go all the way to the Ouzel Falls prepare for an all day journey.
  • Ouzel Falls is one of my favorite waterfalls in all of Colorado. The falls are absolutely beautiful and have a great hike that takes you alongside a river and through a forest that has the Calypso Cascades along the way. The falls themself take a little bit of effort to get to but the hike is not that strenuous. I have seen deer a number of times along the trail as well. If you can make the hike at sunrise before the light becomes too harsh on the waterfall it is truly a spectacle to see in person. You can even hike back up and around the waterfall if you want to push yourself a little further. This is one of the gems of Rocky Mountain National Park and it is in an area that does not receive the crowds that the main area of the park does which is a treat in itself.
