The Capitol Theatre is a theatre operating in Rome, New York. It opened December 10, 1928 as part of the Kallet chain of movie houses, presenting first run films until it closed in 1974. After extensive renovation, the theatre re-opened in 1985 as the non-profit Capitol Civic Center, offering classic films, live theatrical performances, and concerts.

    My Daughter was one of the players in,' Young Frankenstein ', several yrs.ago. I was very impressed by the ambiance & historical preservation done here. I'm originally from Joplin. Missouri. & as a youngster, I went to the theater & movies, in downtown Joplin, called 'The Fox'. I've not beheald such opulence & gracefully decorated theater since, till I attended that play in Rome. Granted, 'The Fox' was quite a bit larger, but this quaint town's theater is an elderly person's step back in times of happy childhood memories. Bravo!

    Love the theatre it's beautiful inside. Only thing is there isn't enough dressing rooms when there are big events like a dance competition. Otherwise I liked it.
