Caymus Vineyards, Rutherford

This vineyard was the first one of the day and definitely made us have high standards for all the vineyards that followed. The host was very knowledgeable about the wine and even how to taste it! The tasting fee can go towards a bottle of wine which I thought was such a cool thing and a great deal! If anyone asks me which vineyard to go to, my first recommendation would be Caymus! We had a very lovely experience and saw a hummingbird!!!

What an experience! Fantastic wine, the property is stunning with blooming flowers everywhere. Our wine host Amanda seemed to memorize basics, but was not personal and we felt rushed through our tasting. Not once we were asked if we enjoyed certain wine or not. She never asked our names or anything personal like were are we from or if we had a chance to taste Camus wine before. Perhaps it was not her day, too bad. We purchased couple of nice bottles due to the delicious wine, not her skills or customer service. Other staff was friendly and provided excellent service.
