Brandywine Falls reviews
We visited the Brandywine Falls on a steamy Saturday afternoon in August and loved it. Parking was nearby, and the half mile wall leading to the falls traversed an elevated boardwalk. Yes, in order... more »
Visited these falls over the holiday weekend. The parking lot is small and we had to wait to find a parking space. Our patience was rewarded as the falls are a relatively easy hike to get to. There... more »
A nice waterfall easily accessible by all to the upper point of the falls via a boardwalk and short trail. You can also take the ‘Metro Parks Trail’ around and cross a retired highway bridge just above the falls for a nice view of the gorge. Currently, not a lot of water, just enough for a nice pleasant picture and memories. IF you are aware of a strong spring storm with a lot of snow or runoff, if you see the creek now, you can imagine by seeing the creek bed how impressive of a waterfall there could be. The ‘boardwalk’ is broken down to 3 parts, the top to see the falls from above. The lower to see the falls from about 2/3’s below the top. And the trail to the old power plant destroyed by lightning and the trail. The later two have significant steps. I personally enjoyed the lower boardwalk built along the rocks. There are toilets located near the head of the trail at the parking lot. There is no water for drinking. Plus, a take in, carry out policy as far as trash and dog presents. This is a beautiful walk, easy walk on the primary trail. If you have time go and visit.
Absolutely amazed by the beautiful waterfall - and the displays with relevant historical information - I will certainly return to explore this area more. I highly recommend this for a day trip with family and/or friends. The walk to the waterfall is nice - not wheelchair accessible as there are several stairs. However, the winding deck paths along the hillside and rock faces is certainly beautiful - leading to the waterfall which is remarkably breath taking. Considering this is in the suburbs, it is a very welcomed surprise of a landscape and view
