This is important to visit even if you go elsewhere in the UP. I've missed a visit all these years and it is worth finding. Interesting history and exhibits connected much of what I'd learned over..... more

Inside are various Ojibwa historical items and displays. Father Marquette's burial place is outside. No entrance fee but donation is requested. Very nice authentic souvenirs in the gift shop.

Very nice and interesting place about native american culture. Stuff is super friendly and helpful. Lots of nice stuff to buy. Our visit after 3 years: Exhibition is enlarged, unfortunately, the store was massively reduced. Almost nothing left to buy. No longer worth paying an extra $12 for bridge just to visit the store.

Very welcoming staff, informative exhibit, and beautiful sculpture garden. Lots of beautiful samples of quill work and woven baskets among other artifacts! They were doing craft workshops during our visit and my kids enjoyed participating. Ms. Judy was a very patient and supportive teacher! As someone reconnecting with my native ancestry, the staff made this a very special visit.
