  • One of the best places in Mid-Missouri for fishing, picnicking, and taking a leisurely stroll through nature. The water really is that deep aqua blue, and the air coming off the water on a hot day is the best refresher. You can also see some local Missouri history with the ruins of the old Iron Works, and in October there's a craft show. Definitely worth a visit any time of year for natural, stirring beauty.
  • Nice clean trout park with fish hatchery. Camping. RV hook-up. General Store. A few nice trails. Some large cave opening that are safe. Some lesser known caves areas outside the trout park that can be traversed with a head lamp and nice boots. 70 miles from St. Louis. Missouri has 5 trout parks that are some of the best in North America.
