Built largely of repurposed industrial objects, City Museum calls itself an "eclectic mixture of children's playground, funhouse, surrealistic pavilion, and architectural marvel." Opened in 2010, the museum challenges guests to experience displays by feeling, touching, playing with, and climbing on them. Exhibits include Elvis Presley's travel trailer and an object claiming to be the world's largest underpants. Visitors looking for a bit of excitement can explore a maze of fake tunnels and caves, or slide down a chute that goes through ten floors. For panoramic views of the city and a ride on an old-fashioned Ferris wheel, visit the rooftop garden. For travelers who use our international travel planner, Saint Louis holidays become easier to arrange, with trips to the City Museum and other attractions mapped out and timetabled.

City Museum reviews
I took two eleven year olds there and they had a great time. Not something I would recommend to an adult only group but the kids will love it.

This place was highly recommended as a stop in St Louis...and we were not disappointed!! It was great! I doubt we will ever find anything like this place anywhere else! Even as a grown adult, I enjoyed it. It was clean, well organized and the staff was awesome! It wasn't overly crowded and the whole experience was great. I highly recommend! It's just a really neat and different kind of place!! Definitely bring knee pads and flashlights!!
Our family had such a blast here! The place is both visually stimulating and was so much fun to navigate through. We spent 5 hours here and didn’t finish everything. We probably experienced about 75% of the museum and would love to have seen it all, but we were just beat. Be prepared to do lots of climbing through a variety of areas and sliding down some fun slides. Knee pads are good to have for those tight spots where you’re crawling on your hands and knees. This place is not just for kids; the adults had fun too! We spent money on the pinball area and we didn’t think this was worth it. The games were much older and a few of us got literally shocked playing some of the games. The flippers gave us a great jolt of shock that completely turned me off and so I stopped after that happened and told the lady manning the area. Everything else was worth it though. We highly recommend this place and would return if ever back in the area.
