Soulard Farmers Market reviews
Visited this market for the first time this last weekend. Due to it being January, not all vendors were present, but there was still an amazing variety of goods to choose, from baked goods to pasta..... more »
Shopping in the oldest farmers market in the nation, makes Soulard Farmers Market as must see place if you are visiting and even for those that live in St Louis. The produce is amazingly fresh and the prices are extremely fair! I go on Fridays to do the bulk of my shopping to avoid the hustle and bustle that is in the market on Saturday, but the amount on vendors on both days is amazing. Saturday has more food vendors there, as well as non-food items. Also more produce vendors tend to be there on Saturday. It is a very fun place to take friends or family that are visiting; suggestion is to grab a cold drink and stroll through the market to see the variety of fresh items you can purchase makes for a great weekend activity!
This is a great place to shop in a neat area while being in a historic building. So many great deals to be had and lots of good food to eat while you shop too. The prices fluctuate so if you have time, wander around before you buy to get the best deals. There are also many restaurants outside of the Market which are worthy of visiting. Bogart's is one of my favorite. Or just grab a cocktail at the Market and people watch. Always an interesting visit.
