FlannelJax's St. Paul Reviews
A visit to FlannedJax's is a novel way to get folks who don't know each other well to loosen up and enjoy each other's company. And WAY better than most corporate team building events - after all... more »
Went for a 50th birthday pre-dinner outing and had a blast. First timers but, did not feel out of place at all. Place was packed with flannel clad patrons! Everyone was friendly and service was... more »
This was my first experience with axe throwing and it was a good one. The location is a little out of the way, with somewhat less than clear parking indication. Parking is available on the other side if the street from this location, with a time limit earlier in the day. Once on the lot and you've entered the building, it is a multi level and business establishment, with Flannel Jax having places various image indicators for where to go so you can get to their space. Inside is full of friendly staff who seem happy to greet you and check you in. The smell of wood is strong, and so is the laughter of those hanging out. It features at least 10 sections to throw axes, two sections to saw logs, and two others for thump a stump (hammering a nail into a stump with others, you may be familiar with this game by another name, which is trademarked and not allowed for open use - the concept is the same). The drinks for purchase range from wine to a few small selections of ciders and beer. There isn't much outside of these, which isn't a problem for me personally. I came as a plus one to a business event where my partner currently works and I used to. Our attendant used humor and a good nature to teach newbies how to throw axes, and participate in other games, while keeping score. She was a wonderful part of the evening and helpful in easing axe throwing fears. Other staff were just as helpful and polite. If you're intimidated, don't be. Axe throwing is easier than you might initially expect, and you're likely to have a lot of fun. Walk in prices differ from reservations, so make sure to keep busy hours and price in mind if you decide to go.
Went with a group of ladies for a bachelorette party and it was a great time. Very welcoming, friendly and funny staff, calm environment. The place was clean and well decorated. Played many different games, and other wood activities. 100% will go back and recommend it to others. 5 stars for sure. Thank you !!!
