  • Allegany State Park is an amazing place to camp. There are tent sites, trailer sites, cottages and cabins that you can reserve. I personally love the Quaker Area. There is so much to do. There are many trails, lots of creek to explore, a naturalist cabin, a museum, and so much more. You can see lots of wildlife- birds, raccoons, bears, chipmunks, crayfish, snakes, salamanders, newts, and even eagles. Quaker Lake and Science Lake are great spots to go fishing. There is a bike path that goes throughout the area and a public park to have a nice picnic, creek access, and take the kids to the playground. The parks people take such great care of Allegany and they are all super helpful and will answer any of your questions. The night sky shows all the stars from lack of air pollution and you may even see shooting stars during the right times of the year.
  • Beautiful campgrounds. Make certain that you know your location either is with electric or without. Somehow it wasn't clear when I made reservations and we ended up with no electric. We called the park ranger and they quickly got us a new site with electric. Also the trails are fun to traverse. We saw ground hogs, lots of birds, squirrel, chipmunks and a snake skin🐍nice bike trails
