  • I pass through there on the way up City Creek Canyon. I take raw peanuts as there are squirrels just waiting to be fed. The stream has been frozen over lately and it creates a whole different feel.....  more

  • This place is so pretty! Tucked away by the capital building, it is a very popular spot. We went for family pictures and the park was FULL. Parking was a little stressful and not the easiest to find. Lots of people were taking pictures, exercising, or lounging. It is good to note that this park also doubles as a dog park. Not a smaller, fenced off area—but the whole park. It seems like a fun place for dogs to run and play. The downside of that most all of the dogs were off leash and it got a little crazy with the sheer amount of dogs that were there. We tried to stay out of the way, but still had a few dogs running up to and even jumping on us (which was fine-we like dogs!) But if you are uncomfortable around dogs at all, this is definitely not the place for you. We went on a weekend, which is probably why it was so crazy. But maybe on a weekday it would be a little more peaceful. So cool to find such a pretty little spot in SLC though.
  • This is such a beautiful and clean park! As a dog lover, it was so nice to see so many dogs having a blast there. The water is beautiful, and there are some very nice war memorials. Parking can be a bit tricky, so be prepared to walk a bit if you can't find a close spot to the entrance. It's totally worth the walk though! The path turns into a hiking-type trail later in the park.
