My husband and I held our vow renewal ceremony and party at the museum. It was an amazing and beautiful experience. The grounds and buildings are beautiful in photos and easy to navigate. The museum staff is knowledgeable and quick to help. The art collection is extensive and varied. The curators rotate the collection frequently and have interesting and unusual special exhibits. It is from to get in (minus the current special exhibits) every Thursday from 4-9. They usually have a band and food trucks on the lawn outside the main entrance.
Wonderful collection of art in a beautiful house on a magnificent campus. The McNay has so many wonderful things to look at and is always such a nice experience whenever I visit. The current attraction is a collective of exhibits that are named Immersion. There are extra fees for seeing them but the cost is well worth the experience if you take advantage of all offered attractions. After checking out Immersion my family and I walked about 2/3 of the general works of art, which are still world class; Picasso, Monet, Van Gogh, etc. Thanks to HEB you can visit the McNay for free on Thursdays. Have fun!
