We took the bus from our downtown hotel. Buses are super easy. The flowers we found at the end of the short walk from the bus stop were wonderful. There is a large enclosure with all of the Dahlias you could ever imagine and so beautifully arranged. Then there is the white building (which we did not have time to go in). But it did look beautiful with the Dahlias and the other area of organized garden and lawn in front of the building. There were people relaxing in the lawn and families playing under all of the trees. So relaxing!!
Was just strolling through the park today and came across this stunning building. As we approached we saw a team of about x12 gardeners tending to the exterior plants and displays. It’s immaculate. It was a pretty hot day so you may wonder why we might want to go to a giant hot green house (!). We were on vacation and it was only $9 for adults & $7 for children. In the entrance area was a nice guy who was genuinely interested in where we were from. We went inside and were blown away with the beauty - from the decorative floor to the stunning foliage, pitcher plants, established fountains etc. In the right hand room was a tropical rain forest with a fine mist every other x5 mins to keep all the exotic plants nicely coated. In the far left hand room there was a nice lady volunteer that offered us to do plant rubbings on flattened plants which kids were enjoying taking part. There are some small fish. The only thing that we felt was missing were butterflies. You will probably spend between half hour to an hour in here unless you have a strong interest in certain plants. There were students being instructed on how to draw the plants and foliage. We didn’t learn an awful lot - but it’s great for s little wander on your visit to the foggy city. Felt good to support their work. Pics attached.
