Rebuilt after an earthquake, de Young Museum can resist seismic shaking with its striking twisted tower. This modern complex in Golden Gate Park holds collections of American and contemporary international art. Archives of American art dating back to the 17th century, including textiles and costumes, make the museum exceptional. Textiles come from as far away as Turkey, and the costumes showcase early fashions from designers such as Christian Dior. • Wonderful art exhibit! Could spend the whole day looking at everything! My only request? Cool it down a bit more. Unless it's necessary to have it at a certain temp. All those people create body heat and it got a little toasty. Otherwise a wonderful experience! Looking forward to our next trip!
  • This is a must when in Golden Gate Park. Entry price is reasonable. Food costs were rather expensive but you are a captive audience. Plenty to see and read. The stories behind the artists and their work is interesting. Shops are well stocked. All staff were friendly and helpful. Temporary exhibitions are available at an additional cost. Definitely worth the walk through Golden Gate Park to get there.
