Covering the northwesternmost corner of San Francisco, Lands End lets you enjoy the outdoors and gives you insight into the city’s history. The park offers easy hiking and cycling trails, picnic areas, and views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the ocean. The treacherous waters of the Pacific have been the scourge of many mariners, and during low tide, you can see shipwrecks dotting the coastline. The trails take you to a memorial dedicated to the USS San Francisco, one of the most decorated battleships of World War II, and the ruins of Sutro Baths, once the world’s largest swimming pool complex. Consider dressing in layers, as the weather close to the ocean can be chilly. Fog can sometimes obscure the views. PutLands End into our San Francisco holiday maker and find out what's close by, where to stay, and where to head next.

Great urban decay, one of San Francisco’s treasures
-
All land ends at ocean. Apparently how they end is quite different. It’s fitting the wise people ahead of us gave the “Lands End” moniker to this unique place in the City of San Francisco. The place with cliff and in front of the Golden Gate is truly magnificent. Since I live in the Bay Area, I have been to this place more than a few times. Except finding a place to park, I had great satisfaction with every visit. The scenery is beyond awesome. You can see Golden Gate Bridge when you walk the Coastal trail. Most of the time the ocean here was energetic. It always made me have great admiration for those great people who built the Golden Gate Bridge. How difficult the task it must had been! The Coastal trail is very popular and crowded with many people during the weekend and holiday. There are stairs built for going down to the beach and going up the hills. It’s a great and enjoyable walk in this beautiful place.
