Beach · Hidden Gem · Nature / Park
Secluded and free from crowds, Marshall’s Beach offers up-close views of the Golden Gate Bridge, especially stunning at sunset. The narrow stretch of sand that lies against the backdrop of eroded cliffs can be reached via a steep flight of stairs. Sightseers and photography enthusiasts keep to the southern end of the beach, since its north section--sheltered by tall rocks--is mostly frequented by nudists. • Lots of stairs, but worth to visit on a sunny day just to take some rays in, walk and enjoy. You will most likely encounter some interesting characters... and above all offers fantastic views of...  more »
  • It took about 25 minutes to get down to the Beach from the main parking area but the views of the Golden Gate Bridge were amazing and at sunset we saw huge numbers of Pelicans flying home to roost.  more »

  • A great place to sun your toes. But ALL of your toes (if you’re into that sort of thing). Many people here do sun ALL of their toes, if you know what I mean. You will enjoy breathtaking views of the big red metal thing here-just beware of the exposed toes.
  • Beautiful, but crowded. The place is incredible: beautiful beach with a view of Golden Gate Bridge 🌁 It’s as good as it sounds. Photographers are in love with this place as the scene is awesome, especially on pics. You have to know that to get there you have to hike a little bit. You’re hiking gown to the beach, then going uphill on the way back, that it more challenging. I’m sure every step is worth it. And yeah, the only downside is that there is a lot of people there. Ok, maybe the second one: as always in SF, it can be very windy – definitely bring a coat and a scarf :)
