Off the Grid reviews
The party was very cool, with great scenic views of the bay. Lots of people, but plenty of space to put out a blanket or table and chairs. Some very long lines for food at some trucks, and... more »
The food and atmosphere here was great. There are a bunch of different food options from local trucks and stands. There is definitely something for everyone. We got there right when it opened and... more »
While new to Off the Grid food trucks, I have found some favorites. Today Off the Grid set up 5 trucks in front of City Hall. I tried my mainstay Seoul of Taipei. The menu changed a little, but their signature Taipei Fries were still delicious. The crispy fries and savory sauce really complement the tender braised pork belly pieces. The box of food looks small but the flavor and heartiness pack a punch. I highly recommend this food truck arena but arrive early to snag a table al fresco.
I did not realize how neat it was to have food trucks every Tuesday and Thursday since they were right outside the office. I think it is cool they change up the trucks so it wasn't the same trucks every week. They bring chairs and tables, but honestly sometimes it isn't a pretty sight to eat food while transients are drunk and worshipping the sun. So sometimes i would take the food inside and eat it in the office. Other times I would walk over to City Hall and chill if the weather is right. I do understand the trucks need to pay make their profit but some of them have some pricey plates like $10-$12!! Yipes, that's why sometimes I wouldn't do Off the Grid. Overall, Off the the Grid is great thing in SF. It give the opportunity for different food trucks to go to different parts of the city. Civic Center/UN Plaza is a perfect spot!
