Create an itinerary including Palace of Fine Arts Theatre
Built for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition, Palace of Fine Arts Theatre was one of the only constructions kept intact after the world fair. Locals were so impressed with the architecture, they campaigned to preserve the structure. Take in the elegant rotunda, the Greek-style colonnades, and the lagoon, where you can see a clear reflection of the building. Here you can relax in the company of swans, ducks, geese, turtles, and frogs. The palace hosts a variety of art exhibits, concerts, films, and theatrical performances throughout the year. Check online to see if any events here line up with your visit. • This is such a beautiful place to walk around and take photos. Many people were getting wedding and graduation photos taken while I was there. The architecture, plants and wildlife are wonderful...

  • The wonderful hilly roads leading to The Palace of Fine Arts already provide a glimpse of what's in store. This place has different entry points all around the place. Various different sculptures, statues, towering pillars and water bodies around the place perfectly compliment each other and totally justifying it's name. This not only reminds us of the past but with a bit of help from weather gods acts as a perfect setting for photography enthusiasts. If you want to spend a quality family time please do consider to visit The Palace of Fine Arts. There are designated parking lots around the place but otherwise also plenty of roadside lots available.
  • This is where I married my beautiful wife Molly 11 yrs ago. It was a beautiful unforgettable SF wedding. We were married under the rotunda on a warm October afternoon. Three kids later and a million new memories, but that warm October day is still one of my most fondest. (PS)
