The Embarcadero, San Francisco

#4 of 28 in Neighborhoods in San Francisco
Pier / Boardwalk · Neighborhood
One of the city's liveliest areas, The Embarcadero is a major boulevard that features a scenic waterfront and a number of shops, eateries, and architectural landmarks. Running from the Bay Bridge, this bustling walkway passes many iconic sites--such as the Ferry Building and Fisherman's Wharf--before it ends at Pier 45. Apart from offering solid dining options, Pier 7 is great for strolling, while at Pier 33, you can catch a ferry to Alcatraz. If you need to rest your feet, you can pick up a historic streetcar that runs along the boulevard or a pedicab near the Ferry Building. It couldn't be easier to arrange your visit to The Embarcadero and many more San Francisco attractions: make an itinerary online using Inspirock's San Francisco road trip site.
